Sometimes the path to your purpose isn’t a straight line—it’s a winding road that teaches you resilience and how to turn every setback into a system that works.
It was my father who got me into real estate. I was fifteen years into the hospitality industry, having worked in restaurants my entire life, when we spoke over the phone. He urged me to get my real estate license—and for good reason. My father had been a contractor himself and knew real estate could become an important generator of wealth. I got my license shortly after, but there was still a long road ahead before I became the REALTOR® I am today.
Although my dad worked in construction, the idea of joining that world had never crossed my mind. I was very studious—still am—and thought I’d go into computer science or journalism. I have an appreciation for systems, and understanding code felt like an exciting possibility. But life had other plans; a friend invited me to join him in a restaurant business, and I agreed. I started waiting tables and eventually moved into bartending.
As fate would have it, life changed one night when I randomly bumped into an old friend who came in for dinner. I wasn’t even supposed to work that night, but destiny had its own agenda. I noticed him sitting at the bar, and as we caught up, he told me his friend was hiring at his restaurant. He asked if I was interested.
That move became the start of a new chapter, starting my career as a restaurant manager. I had my son, and—following my dad’s advice—I got my real estate license while continuing to work at the restaurant, where I managed the staff. Because I’m systems-oriented, I naturally began noticing inefficiencies and looking for solutions. One major issue was scheduling: it was chaotic and frustrating. I developed a new process for requesting and assigning shifts, and it completely changed the culture. The team’s mindset shifted and staff were more motivated. That was when I truly understood the power of creating strong systems—and that lesson has stayed with me ever since.
I met my wife, Katie, soon after—at a bar, of all places—and we became inseparable. We got married, welcomed our daughter, and made a few lifestyle changes that allowed me to be more focused than ever on work. I was thriving in the restaurant business, managing people and systems I’d helped design.
But my real estate business was slow. I switched brokerages to Keller Williams, and that was a turning point. I received excellent mentorship and learned a lesson that changed everything: if I don’t treat my business like a business, no one else will. From that moment, I became much more intentional. I started implementing the same systems that had worked for me in hospitality—processes that created structure, accountability, and results.
Real estate has its ups and downs, and it’s not always easy, but I’m incredibly grateful for the network I’ve built and for the flexibility this career provides—especially as a father. I’m very family-oriented and carve out time to be present for my kids. My son plays baseball, and I love traveling with him to watch his games. My daughter is a swimmer, painter, and gymnast. I’m her cheerleader on the sidelines. In my free time, I volunteer at their schools and support the local recreation center’s annual toy drive.
I also have an ongoing fascination with economics—particularly monetary policy and how tax money is spent. Who knows? Maybe one day I’ll start a YouTube channel to share my analysis. The economy affects real estate more than most people realize, and I learn a lot by following where the money goes—who manages it, how it’s allocated, and what that means for the future.
Looking back, I see how my path wasn’t linear, but it taught me how to think strategically, serve people wholeheartedly, and be productive.
I’ve been a full-time REALTOR® for 14 years, combining hands-on experience with a deep commitment to data-driven decision making. I carefully analyze market trends, study supply and demand, and evaluate competition to guide clients toward smart choices. Whether buying or selling, I use numbers and logic—not guesswork—to identify opportunities and create leverage at the negotiation table.
For buyers, I focus on finding properties that offer strong long-term potential and the best deal possible. For sellers, I price homes strategically and accurately, always grounded in real market data. As a lifelong local, I know every neighborhood—its schools, restaurants, community feel, and price dynamics—which helps my clients make informed, confident choices.
Because I care, I’m honest and direct. I don’t waste time or sugarcoat the truth. My role is to offer a perspective that genuinely serves my clients, helping them reach their goals with grace.
Sincerely,
